Kindred Spirit® Oak (Quercus x warei ‘Nadler’ PP17604) is an extremely columnar, tightly branched, upright tree prized for its striking narrow form and glossy, dark green lobed foliage with distinctive silver undersides. The attractive summer leaves turn a brilliant orange-red in autumn, offering a stunning seasonal finale. This sister of the Regal Prince Oak is highly resistant to mildew and urban pollution, making it an excellent choice for city landscapes and challenging sites.

Growth & Size

This variety exhibits an extremely columnar, tightly branched, upright growth habit. It is a moderate-growing tree, typically reaching a mature size of about 26 – 30 feet in height with a spread of only (5 – 6 feet.

Additional Notes

It blooms in spring with inconspicuous catkins. Hardy to Zone 3, it is drought tolerant once established in moist soil and is highly resistant to mildew and urban pollution. An outstanding choice for tight spaces, narrow plantings, street trees, urban gardens, and residential landscapes where extremely columnar form, glossy green foliage with silver undersides, orange-red fall colour, and pollution tolerance are desired.
