Latin Name: Gazania rigens ‘Kiss’Â
The Gazania ‘Kiss’ is a vibrant, sun-loving perennial (often grown as an annual) prized for its large, daisy-like blooms and drought tolerance. This compact variety grows 8–10 inches (20–25 cm) tall, making it ideal for containers, rock gardens, and sunny borders.
The ‘Kiss’ series dazzles with 3–4 inch (7–10 cm) flowers in bold hues like gold, bronze, pink, and bi-colors, often with striking contrasting stripes or dark centers. Its blooms open in sunlight and close at night or on cloudy days.
Thriving in full sun and well-draining, poor soil, it’s heat- and salt-tolerant, perfect for coastal gardens. The silver-green, lance-shaped leaves form a low mat, adding texture even when not in bloom.
Deer-resistant and low-maintenance, it pairs beautifully with blue ageratum, purple verbena, or sedum.
