The Sensation Maple is a seedless, male cultivar of the Manitoba Maple (Boxelder), prized for its outstanding, reliable red fall colour in challenging climates. Unlike the species, it features non-suckering growth and a dense, broadly oval crown.

Its compound leaves emerge with a reddish tint in spring, mature to a glossy medium green in summer, and then transform into a brilliant, uniform scarlet-red in autumn. This vibrant display is consistent even in the harsh conditions of the prairie.

Highly adaptable and drought-tolerant, it thrives in poor soils, full sun, and is extremely cold-hardy (Zone 3). It is an excellent, low-maintenance choice for streetscapes, parks, and residential landscapes where other maples may struggle. Valued for its toughness and predictable autumn show, the Sensation Maple delivers vibrant colour and durable performance where it is needed most.
