The Oak Leaf Mountain Ash is an ornamental tree prized for its unique, lobed foliage that resembles oak leaves, setting it apart from other mountain ashes. In spring, it produces flat clusters of creamy-white flowers, followed by showy clusters of bright orange-red berries in late summer that persist into winter.
Its dark green, glossy leaves provide a handsome summer backdrop before turning attractive shades of yellow and bronze in autumn. It grows with a dense, rounded to oval habit.
Hardy and cold-tolerant (Zone 3), it prefers full sun and well-drained soil. Like other mountain ashes, it can be susceptible to fire blight and borers in stressful conditions. Valued for its distinctive leaf shape, ornamental fruit, and four-season interest, it is an excellent choice as a specimen tree in residential landscapes or parks where its unique character can be appreciated.
