Latin Name: Salvia splendens ‘Red Hot Sally’

The Salvia ‘Red Hot Sally’ is a compact, fiery-flowered annual prized for its vibrant red blooms and heat-loving nature. Growing 12–18 inches (30–45 cm) tall, it’s ideal for containers, borders, and mass plantings.

This cultivar produces dense, 6–8 inch (15–20 cm) spikes of intense scarlet-red tubular flowers, blooming spring to frost with minimal care. Its glossy, dark green foliage contrasts sharply with the bright blooms, attracting hummingbirds and butterflies.

Thrives in full sun to partial shade and moist, well-draining soil. More drought-tolerant than older S. splendens varieties, it’s also resistant to deer and rabbits.

Perfect for patio pots or tropical-themed gardens, pair with white alyssum, blue ageratum, or golden marigolds for striking contrast.
