Overview & Description

Odyssey® Apple (Malus x ‘Jefsey’) is a hardy, medium-large apple developed in Manitoba, prized for its chartreuse skin with a red blush and crisp, sweet flesh with a flavour similar to Gala. Ripening in late summer, this versatile apple is perfect for baking, preserving, or eating straight off the tree. Its exceptional cold hardiness makes it an excellent choice for northern prairies and challenging climates.

Growth & Size

This variety exhibits a rounded, upright, spreading growth habit. It is a moderate-growing tree, typically reaching a mature size of about 16 feet in height with a spread of 10 – 13 feet.

Additional Notes

It blooms in spring with white to pink flowers. Hardy to Zone 2, it requires another apple variety within 150 meters (500 feet) for cross-pollination. An outstanding choice for home orchards, edible landscapes, and prairie gardens where Gala-like flavour, crisp sweet fruit, and exceptional Manitoba hardiness are desired.
