Overview & Description

Little Hottie® Hydrangea (Hydrangea paniculata ‘Little Hottie’) is a compact, dwarf panicle hydrangea prized for its abundant, long-lasting white blooms and sturdy, upright form. In mid-summer, it produces large, dense, conical flower clusters that open a soft lime-green and mature to pure white, creating a crisp, clean display that brightens any landscape. As autumn approaches, the blooms may take on subtle pinkish tones before fading to tan for winter interest. The dark green, ovate foliage is disease-resistant and provides an attractive backdrop for the showy flowers. Its strong stems hold the blooms upright without flopping, even after heavy rain.

Growth & Size

This variety exhibits a compact, rounded, upright growth habit. It is a slow to moderate-growing dwarf shrub, typically reaching a mature size of about 24 – 36 inches in both height and spread.

Additional Notes

It blooms from mid-summer through fall on new wood. Hardy to Zone 4, it thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, well-drained, organically rich soil. It is low-maintenance, deer resistant, and attracts pollinators. Prune in late winter or early spring to shape and promote vigorous growth. An outstanding choice for small-space gardens, and northern landscapes where abundant white blooms, compact habit, and reliable performance are desired.
