Overview & Description

Flamingo Willow (Salix integra ‘Flamingo’ PP17490) is an improved selection of the Nishiki Willow, prized for its stunning variegated cream-white and green foliage dappled with pink that is retained throughout the growing season. The colourful leaves are held on smooth, red-pink branches, adding striking winter interest. This improved variety offers better resistance to leaf scorch, ensuring healthier, more vibrant foliage.

Growth & Size

This variety exhibits an upright, rounded, bushy growth habit. It is a moderate-growing shrub, typically reaching a mature size of about 5 feet in both height and spread.

Additional Notes

It blooms in spring with inconspicuous catkins. Hardy to Zone 3, it prefers full sun and fertile, moist soil. An outstanding choice for mass plantings, accent plantings, hedges, screens, and winter interest gardens where variegated pink, cream, and green foliage, red-pink branches, and improved leaf scorch resistance are desired.
