Latin Name: Prunus ‘Cupid’

A small prairie hardy cherry with glossy dark green leaves that turn yellow in the fall. Clusters of fragrant flowers appear 1 week later then other cherries followed by dark red-black cherries with purple flesh. Moderately sweet, slightly atringent fruit excellent for fresh eating, and processing. Self-pollinating variety, fruit ripens in early-September, part of the Romance series developed at the University of Saskatchewan.
