The Boreal Beauty Honeyberry Haskap (Lonicera caerulea Boreal Beauty) is a unique variety prized for its late-ripening fruit that matures about a month later than other haskap berries, extending the fresh berry season significantly. It produces large, dark blue berries with an excellent sweet-tart flavor profile, making them perfect for fresh eating, baking, or preserving. This vigorous, productive shrub from the University of Saskatchewan’s breeding program has excellent resistance to mildew and is known for its reliable performance.

Growth & Size

This variety exhibits a neat, tidy, rounded to upright growth habit. It forms a medium-sized shrub, typically reaching a mature size of about 5 to 8 feet in height with a spread of 5 to 6 feet.

It blooms in spring, with fruit ripening in late July to early August, offering one of the latest harvests among honeyberries. Self-sterile; plant with Boreal Beast for optimal pollination. Exceptionally hardy to Zone 2, thriving in full sun to part shade. An outstanding choice for extending the honeyberry season, providing versatility, and enjoying nutrient-rich fruit well into late summer.
