Overview & Description

Alpine Carpet® Juniper (Juniperus communis ‘Mondap’) is an extremely hardy, low-growing evergreen groundcover prized for its softly textured, dense, blue-green foliage and low spreading habit. The fine-textured needles create a lush, carpet-like appearance that suppresses weeds and provides year-round colour. This tough, adaptable variety is an excellent choice for covering large areas, slopes, and challenging sites.

Growth & Size

This variety exhibits a low, spreading, mat-forming growth habit. It is a slow to moderate-growing shrub, typically reaching a mature height of only 10 inches with a spread of 4 feet.

Additional Notes

It does not have showy flowers. Hardy to Zone 3, it is adaptable to various soil conditions and drought tolerant once established. An outstanding choice for groundcover, mass plantings, rock gardens, slope stabilization, and xeriscapes where extremely low height, dense blue-green foliage, and exceptional hardiness are desired.
