BY DEFINITION

A woody perennial plant, typically having a single stem or trunk growing to a considerable height and bearing lateral branches at some distance from the ground.

A deciduous tree is one that loses its leaves at the end of the growing season and go dormant during cold weather.

A coniferous tree, often called evergreens, bears cones and most hold their needles year-round.

BENEFITS

The fundamental benefits of trees are food, shelter, tools and fuel but most importantly they produce oxygen, store carbon and stabilize the soil.

The landscape benefits are beauty, shade, privacy, help blanket noise, fruit, flowers, shelter for wildlife, increase property value…etc.
