Latin Name: Euphorbia hypericifolia ‘Starblast’

The Euphorbia ‘Starblast’ is a compact, drought-tolerant annual prized for its clouds of tiny white blooms and airy texture. Growing 12–18 inches (30–45 cm) tall and wide, it’s ideal for containers, borders, and pollinator gardens.

This improved hybrid produces masses of 0.25-inch (0.6 cm) star-shaped flowers with showy white bracts (not true petals) from spring to frost, contrasting with its fine, blue-green foliage. Unlike older euphorbias, it’s self-cleaning and heat-resistant.

Thrives in full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil. Drought-tolerant once established but blooms best with occasional watering. Deer-resistant and low-maintenance.

Perfect for filler in mixed plantings, pair with purple petunias, yellow bidens, or red geraniums.

Key Features:

  • Flowers: Long-lasting, pollinator-friendly

  • Foliage: Delicate, red-tinged stems

  • Hardiness: Annual (zones 10–11 as perennial)

  • Caution: Sap may irritate skin (wear gloves).
