Overview & Description

Cherry On Top False Spirea (Sorbaria sorbifolia ‘Cherry On Top’) is a beautiful, multi-season deciduous shrub prized for its continuous colour display. In spring, it produces showy plumes of white blooms, which age into bright red seed pods that provide striking colour throughout summer and fall. The bright green leaflets mature to a brilliant yellow-red in autumn, adding further seasonal interest. This compact variety offers an extended season of ornamental appeal.

Growth & Size

This variety exhibits an upright, bushy, rounded growth habit. It is a moderate-growing shrub, typically reaching a mature size of about 4 – 5 feet in both height and spread.

Additional Notes

It blooms in spring, with white flowers aging to red seed pods. Hardy to Zone 3, it requires moist, well-drained soil for best performance. An outstanding choice for borders, mass plantings, foundation plantings, cottage gardens, and wildlife gardens where white spring blooms, red summer seed pods, brilliant yellow-red fall foliage, and compact performance are desired.
