Latin Name: Bracteantha bracteata, syn. Xerochrysum bracteatumÂ
The Bracteantha, commonly called Everlasting Daisy or Strawflower, is a drought-tolerant plant (often grown as an annual) prized for its papery, long-lasting blooms. Growing 1–3 feet (30–90 cm) tall, it’s ideal for cut flower gardens, xeriscapes, and containers.
This Australian native produces 2–3 inch (5–7.5 cm) daisy-like flowers in vibrant shades of yellow, pink, orange, and white, with stiff, petal-like bracts that retain color when dried. Blooms summer to frost atop silvery-green foliage.
Thrives in full sun and well-draining, poor soil. Heat- and drought-resistant, but tolerates light frost. Deer-resistant and low-maintenance.
Perfect for everlasting bouquets, pair with lavender, statice, or ornamental grasses.
