Latin Name: Lamium galeobdolonÂ
The Silver Nettle Vine is a vigorous, trailing perennial prized for its silver-variegated foliage and shade tolerance. Growing 6–12 inches (15–30 cm) tall with spreading stems up to 3 feet (90 cm), it’s ideal for ground cover, woodland gardens, or containers.
This cultivar features heart-shaped, toothed leaves with bold silver markings and small, yellow hooded flowers in late spring. Unlike its invasive cousin (L. galeobdolon), it’s bred for controlled growth while maintaining drought resistance.
Thrives in partial to full shade and well-draining soil. Deer-resistant and low-maintenance, but may need occasional pruning to contain spread.
Perfect for brightening dark corners, pair with hostas, heucheras, or Japanese painted ferns.
