Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice!
Who’s with me? Fall is my favourite time of year! Pumpkin spice aside (not really a fan), this time of year with its changing colours, falling leaves, sweater weather, warm drinks, and cooler temperatures provides a peacefulness, almost a closure to the season. With decent weather still ahead, tired blooms will get replaced with fall mums, ornamental grasses, and pansies to name a few seasonal plants that are now available. Bold textural plants such as ornamental cabbage and kale or sedums and coral bells are also great additions to a fall planter. Why not tuck a pumpkin or two among your planters?
The bulk of the garden work may be done for the season but dressing up a few containers to herald the fall is a fun way to keep the beauty going! While most garden tasks are winding down, don’t forget the tulips, daffodils, and crocus bulbs need to be planted this fall, to have beautiful blooms in spring. We’ve got a great selection in-store, but don’t wait they won’t last long!
It’s also that time of year that many of you have been waiting for! The September Savings event is about to begin – perennials, shrubs, and trees are going on sale! We still have a great selection, and as the season progresses the discounts may go deeper, but do you take the chance on missing out on one of your favourites?? From big trees, to potted trees and shrubs, to perennials and ornamental grasses – they’re all on sale!
Have you been wanting to create your own urban orchard? So many fruit trees are still in stock, including Cider apples and everyone’s favourite Honey Crisp apples. Do you remember how awesome your neighbours flowering crab apple looked last spring? We’ve got a whole bunch of those too! How about cherries, pears, or plums? Need shade after this hot summer? Check out all our shade tree options. Fall colour top of mind right now? You can see for yourself what shrubs and trees are showing colour at our nursery. There is still plenty of time to plant, so what are you waiting for? Start saving with Blue Grass!
Happy Fall Ya’all!
