Latin Name: Osteospermum ecklonis ‘Ostica’

The Osteospermum ‘Ostica’ is a compact, early-flowering plant (often grown as an annual) prized for its large, vibrant blooms and cold tolerance. Growing 10–12 inches (25–30 cm) tall, it’s ideal for containers, borders, and rock gardens.

This improved hybrid series produces 2.5–3 inch (6–7.5 cm) daisy-like flowers in bold shades of purple, white, or yellow, with contrasting blue-purple centers. Unlike traditional osteospermums, it blooms earlier in spring and tolerates cooler temperatures, with flowers that stay open longer, even in cloudy weather.

Thrives in full sun and well-draining soil. Drought-tolerant once established but benefits from occasional watering. Hardy in zones 8–11 (annual in colder zones).

Perfect for early-season color, pair with ajuga, creeping phlox, or dwarf iris.
