Latin Name: Osteospermum ecklonis ‘Flower Power’Â
The Osteospermum ‘Flower Power’ is a hardy, floriferous plant (often grown as an annual) prized for its large, daisy-like blooms and exceptional weather tolerance. Growing 12–18 inches (30–45 cm) tall, it’s ideal for containers, borders, and coastal gardens.
This award-winning cultivar produces 3–4 inch (7–10 cm) flowers in vibrant shades of purple, pink, orange, or white, with spoon-shaped petals and iridescent blue-purple centers. Unlike older varieties, it stays open at night and blooms spring to frost, even in cool or cloudy weather.
Thrives in full sun and well-draining, sandy soil. Drought- and salt-tolerant once established. Hardy in zones 9–11 (annual elsewhere).
Perfect for low-maintenance landscapes, pair with lavender, blue fescue, or red valerian.
