Overview & Description

The My Monet® Weigela (Weigela florida ‘Verweig’ PP16824, PBR3315) from Proven Winners is a charming, dwarf shrub celebrated for its stunning variegated foliage and vibrant blooms. Its small, oval leaves emerge with green centers and creamy-white margins, and develop showy pink highlights as the season progresses, providing three seasons of color. In late spring to early summer, it produces clusters of striking, bright pink to rosy-red, tubular flowers that attract hummingbirds and create a beautiful contrast against the colorful foliage.

Growth & Size

This variety exhibits a dense, compact, rounded to mounded growth habit. It is a slow-growing shrub, typically reaching a mature size of about 12 to 18 inches in height with a spread of 18 to 24 inches. Its tiny size makes it perfect for small spaces.

Additional Notes

It blooms in late spring to early summer. Hardy to Zone 4, it is low-maintenance and thrives in full sun to partial shade. It adapts to a variety of well-drained soils, including clay, and is drought-tolerant once established. For best foliage color and flowering, plant in full sun; prune immediately after flowering as it blooms on old wood. Perfect for borders, rock gardens, or as a colorful specimen where season-long foliage interest and compact size are desired.
