Latin Name: Helichrysum thianschanicum ‘Icicles’Â
The Helichrysum ‘Icicles’ is a striking, silver-foliaged perennial prized for its needle-like leaves and drought tolerance. Growing 12–18 inches (30–45 cm) tall with a spread of 24 inches (60 cm), it’s ideal for rock gardens, borders, and xeriscapes.
This cultivar features narrow, silvery-white leaves with a soft, fuzzy texture, resembling frost-covered icicles. In summer, it produces small, yellow button-like flowers that attract pollinators.
Thrives in full sun and well-draining, poor to average soil. Highly heat- and drought-resistant, it’s deer-resistant and low-maintenance.
Perfect for contrast plantings, pair with purple sage, blue fescue, or red sedum for bold color and texture.
