Latin Name: Hedera helix

The English Ivy is a versatile, evergreen climber prized for its lobed, glossy leaves and vigorous growth. Reaching 6–80 feet (2–24 meters), it’s used as ground cover, wall climber, or trailing houseplant.

This hardy perennial features dark green or variegated (white/yellow) leaves and produces small yellow-green flowers (on mature plants) followed by black berries. Thrives in shade to partial sun and well-draining soil, tolerating poor conditions.

Caution: Invasive in many regions (e.g., North America), where it smothers native plants and damages structures. Check local restrictions before planting.

Ideal for topiaries or indoor hanging baskets, but requires regular pruning to control spread. Drought-tolerant once established.
