Latin Name: Jacobaea maritima ‘Silver Dust’, syn. Senecio cineraria

The Dusty Miller ‘Silver Dust’ is a striking silver-foliaged perennial prized for its lacy, velvety leaves and drought tolerance. Growing 10–12 inches (25–30 cm) tall, it’s ideal for borders, containers, and contrast plantings.

This cultivar features deeply cut, almost white leaves with a soft, felt-like texture, maintaining its color all season. Though it produces small yellow flowers in summer, many gardeners remove them to focus on the foliage.

Thriving in full sun to partial shade, it prefers well-draining soil and is heat- and drought-resistant once established. ‘Silver Dust’ pairs beautifully with petunias, salvias, or purple verbena, and its deer-resistant nature makes it low-maintenance.

Perfect for moon gardens or modern designs, it adds luminous contrast to any planting.
