Latin Name: Diascia hybrida ‘Genta’

The Diascia ‘Genta’ is a charming, trailing plant (often grown as an annual) prized for its abundant, snapdragon-like blooms and heat tolerance. Growing 8–12 inches (20–30 cm) tall with spreads up to 18 inches (45 cm), it’s ideal for hanging baskets, containers, and rock gardens.

This hybrid twinspur produces 0.5-inch (1 cm) flowers in soft coral-pink with yellow throat markings, blooming spring to frost in cool climates (summer to fall in heat). Its fine, glossy foliage forms a dense mat, adding texture even when not in flower.

Thrives in full sun to partial shade and well-draining, fertile soil. Drought-sensitive—keep evenly moist for best performance. Attracts bees while resisting deer and rabbits.

Perfect for cottage gardens, pair with white alyssum, blue lobelia, or silver dichondra.

Key Features:

  • Flowers: Two-spurred, lightly fragrant

  • Foliage: Semi-evergreen (zones 8–10)

  • Uses: Spiller, pollinator gardens
