Latin Name: Celosia argentea var. plumosa ‘Kimono’Â
The Celosia ‘Plumosa Kimono’ is a dwarf, feathery celosia prized for its compact size and vibrant, plume-like flowers. Growing just 8–10 inches (20–25 cm) tall, it’s ideal for containers, edging, and small-space gardens.
This variety produces dense, velvety flower spikes in bold shades of scarlet, gold, pink, and purple, with blooms lasting from summer until frost. Unlike taller plumed celosias, ‘Kimono’ forms a tight, bushy mound of foliage, requiring no staking.
Thriving in full sun and well-draining soil, it’s heat- and drought-tolerant, making it low-maintenance. The flowers attract pollinators but resist deer and rabbits.
Perfect for patio pots, borders, or mass plantings, it pairs beautifully with silver dusty miller, blue lobelia, or trailing verbena.
